Escape to Egypt – A walk for Christian Aid

Peredur Owen Griffiths of Christain Aid Wales was part of a group that walked 140 miles through Wales in 2016 to raise awareness of the plight of refugees in Europe. The walkers were offered hospitality by Welsh people along the route, both meals and beds. £32,000 was raised for the Christmas appeal.

Pred’s aim for 2017 is to bring the story of the walk and raise awareness of refugees throughout the country. Refugees are the focus of Christian Aid in 2017, especially Christian Aid week 14 – 20 May.

St Edmunds sends the donations for refreshments during the Open Studios weekend at the end of May each year, when the church hosts several local artists.

Pred will give an illustrated talk of his long walk at 2.30pm and 3.30pm in St Edmund’s Church on Saturday 4 March.
