This is the generator bought with donations from kind supporters, family, friends and the St Edmund’s Mission Fund, for Kalka Care Home which provides a home for destitute elderly people in Habri, northern India. This impressive piece of equipment cost about £4000 and will make an enormous difference to life at the home. They will now have fans working when the temperature is 50°C and above; they will be able to pump up fresh water, refrigerate food and medicines, and they will have electric light during the frequent and lengthy power cuts.
You can see Mr CC Devi, president of the local St Vincent de Paul Society which has nurtured the project, and Sister Amala who creates a real home for all members of this community, a wonderful family of people who would otherwise have no-one to care for them.
A big Thank You to all our faithful supporters and especially St Edmund’s Mission Fund, who helped us achieve this.
