Theology for Life

Theology for Life

Come and discover more about the Christian faith! We are going to start a three-year course, Theology for Life, in the St Catwg Ministry Area, Crickhowell. The induction module is starting on 14 June 2018 at St Edmund’s Church, Crickhowell.

If you live in the area, it might be an opportunity for you to learn more about your faith and therefore be more able to serve Christ in our world. You may still be in the process of discerning what God is calling you to be and to do, or you may be training for a specific ministry. Either way, you will be undertaking your study and reflecting on your practical tasks in your communities.

Theology for Life:

  • “Opens the mind”
  • “Enriches faith”
  • “is helpfully challenging”
  • “Widens horizons”
  • “is helpful to learn together and learn from each other in a safe environment”
  • “enables a breadth of viewpoints to be held in a group”
  • “encourages you to reframe faith and to keep reinterpreting how you understand yourself and God”

These are comments from current students, some of whom left school with no qualifications at all whilst others may have degrees! Theology for Life is accessible to all.

Topics covered include:

  • New and Old Testament
  • Liturgy
  • Mission
  • Introduction to Anglican theology

There are three modules a year, and this course can lead to a certificate, and even a degree. If you are hoping to gain a qualification, there are assignments but it is entirely up to you. If you just want to learn more you can do that as well. The course will involve weekly attendance at a group who will meet in St. Edmund’s Church, Crickhowell. If you would like to know more about the course, or the taster session, please contact Katy Tutt, Ministry Area Administrator on 01873 810944, or email katy.tutt@catwg.org.uk
