On November 27, faith communities will gather at Skirrid Village Hall (NP7 8AW) at 12 pm, and a walk to The Skirrid, Wales’ Holy Mountain, will begin at 12.45 pm. There will be senior religious leaders present, such as Dr. Rowan Williams, Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg, Bishop Cherry Vann of Monmouth and others from the Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and other faiths. We are hoping many people from our local communities and parishes will join us.
Faith-based environmentalists draw on sacred texts and religious traditions to generate
environmental principles. This Sunday, as the first day of the new liturgical calendar and the start of Advent, is a timely reminder that Jesus’ reign would eventually restore all of God’s creations.
Religious communities, in conjunction with secular environmental organisations, serve a unique and invaluable role in raising awareness about climate change issues and mobilising believers to take action for climate justice.
