Harvest Festival

Harvest Festival

Our service this year will be led by Rev. Morgan Llewellyn. The theme will be Thanksgiving for all that God gives us and how, as privileged people, we are given the responsibility for sharing with others. Alison Stedman will be talking about the project Gilgal that she visited in Ethiopia and which St Edmund’s supported through the Connected Church scheme for 3 years. Sustainable development is one way out of poverty. As not many of us produce food these days, the Mission Team invite people to give gifts for our Harvest Festival in the form of items for the Brecon Food Bank. There will also be a retiring collection for those affected by storm disasters in Asia and the Caribbean.

The food bank particularly needs these items:

  • Tinned rice pudding
  • powdered milk
  • tinned spaghetti
  • instant mash
  • tinned fruit
  • jam, honey and peanut butter
  • washing-up liquid

Please bring them with you to church on Sunday.
