Today’s readings talk about God’s holiness. Rana looks back at the role of prophets, priests and kings in the old testament in helping the people come close to their God, and Jesus’ role as all three for us.
Jesus’ first public miracle was to change water into wine at the wedding in Cana in Galilee. Rana looks at the lessons we can learn from this.
Psalm 139 tells of how God knows our inmost thoughts, and the calling of Philip and Nathanael in John’s gospel shows Jesus seeing beyond what is humanly possible. Jeremy reflects on what this means for us and how we can be sure of the calling God has for us.
We know relatively little about the Magi, when they arrived, how many there were or even whether they were all men. But we know they brought gifts and this point has resonances today.
