Following the Church in Wales guidance we have now suspended all church services and group meetings until further notice.
We use a variety of styles of worship, catering for a range of ages and traditions as outlined on this page. You are warmly invited to come and join with us at any time. If you normally take communion at your own church, whatever denomination, then you are most welcome to take it here at St Edmund’s. The service times do vary through the month so please check the times below.
8:00 Holy Communion / Morning Prayer
This is a short communion service following the Church in Wales 1984 green prayer book. There are no hymns but there is a sermon, and the whole service lasts about 45 minutes. On the third Sunday of the month we normally have a service of Morning Prayer.
10:45 Morning Worship
On the first Sunday of the month we have Morning Worship. If we have a Baptism it usually takes place as part of this service. On other Sundays the service generally follows one of the Church in Wales modern rites for Holy Communion.
We use a mixture of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs, bible readings and a sermon.
Activities for primary aged children are available during most services. There is also a children’s area at the back of the church which you are welcome to use during the service.
The service normally lasts about 90 minutes.
Tea and coffee is available after the 10:45 services and you are most welcome to join us.
Our prayer ministry team is available in the Lady Chapel after the 10:45 service if you wish to pray with them about any matter. Alternatively, this is a place of quiet where you may pray on your own.
Occasionally we have joint services with other churches in the Ministry Area, for example on Rogation Sunday when we meet in Cwmdu, or if there are five Sundays in the calendar month. Details are posted here and on Facebook.
