Worship at St Edmund’s

Worship at St Edmund’s

We use a variety of styles of worship, catering for a range of ages and traditions as outlined on this page. You are warmly invited to come and join with us at any time. If you normally take communion at your own church, whatever denomination, then you are most welcome to take it here at St Edmund’s.

10:45 Morning Worship

Palm Sunday, procession along the High Street

This is our main service on a Sunday and usually follows one of the contemporary liturgies of the Church in Wales.

On the second and fourth Sunday of the month we have a service of Holy Communion using one of the Church in Wales modern rites.

We use a mixture of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs, bible readings and a sermon.

Activities for primary aged children are available during most services. There is also a children’s area at the back of the church which you are welcome to use during the service.

The service normally lasts about 60-80 minutes and is often livestreamed.

Prayer Ministry

Our prayer ministry team is available in the Lady Chapel after the 10:45 service if you wish to pray with them about any matter. Alternatively, this is a place of quiet where you may pray on your own.

Tea and coffee is available after the 10:45 services and you are most welcome to join us.

11:00 Weekday Holy Communion

This takes place on the first and third Tuesday of each month and is a short communion service following the Church in Wales 1984 green prayer book. There are no hymns but there is a sermon, and the whole service lasts about 45 minutes.

Come to the Table

Following the service on the first Tuesday there is a simple vegetarian lunch served in the Parish Hall. All are welcome but please let Moseena know if you are coming.

Other Services

Occasionally we have joint services with other churches in the Ministry Area, for example on Rogation Sunday when we meet in Cwmdu, or if there are five Sundays in the calendar month. Details are posted here and on Facebook.
